    About Claudia Blevins

As I look back in my life, I realize that art has always influenced the way I see the world around me.  From my first jumbo box of crayons with all the extra colors, to the beautiful illustrations in storybooks, to a favorite movie, "Pollyanna", (where prisms created a glorious rainbow riot of colors on the walls), I have been intrigued with color and light. Growing up in Kingsport, TN, I took art in high school and college. Then life intervened and I became a working wife and mother living in Abingdon, VA where I still reside. Art became my part-time hobby. I tried many different

mediums until I discovered my perfect combination of color, texture and

light--stained glass! Then fused glass! And finally torchwork! Now retired, I spend my leisure time combining glasswork with my love of jewelry. Envisioning and perfecting my own ideas and working with my hands to complete my designs is basic to my happiness. And making something that someone else will wear, display or love is the bonus. Creation is not a perfect science but is a product of the artist's own view and imagination. I hope you enjoy my endeavors!
